Taking your key experiences into account before the year ends is important. It’s a way of bringing the year to a close so that the new year can begin with a fresh outlook. I know, this means adding one more thing to your to do list, but it’s worth it, trust me.

Wrapping up the year through counting your blessings and reflecting on your significant experiences will nourish your soul. You will be glad you did.

Simply answer the following 5 questions successively:

Over the past year…

  1. Which moments captured my full attention?
  2. Which experiences had the greatest impact on me?
  3. Which significant lessons have I learned?.
  4. Which were my most disguised or unexpected blessings?
  5. What am I most grateful for in the past year?

Doing the above exercise should bring to awareness more of what there is for you to be grateful for. Gratitude is the ideal attitude to end the year with. What you’re grateful for now will be the attractive force that you begin your next year with. Entering the new year with genuine gratitude for what you have and who you are will bring more of what you want into your life.

Whatever it is that you want, start by being grateful for the aspects of it which you already have. Yes, you already have what you want within you! It’s an attitude! The right attitude gets the right results through showing you the right steps to take along the way toward your success. Success is simply the result of your current attitude.

You will manifest whatever your strongest desire is fixated on, but be careful of straining against the natural unfolding of your experiences in life. Excessive exertion is a sign that your attitude might need adjustment. It means there is a mis-match between what you think you need and what you really need. What you really need is what life gives you. Being grateful for this is the attitude that frees you to move toward what you want. The twister is that…

when you genuinely appreciate what you have, you become attractive to that which you truly desire.

In the end (once you have what you want) you will be grateful, right? Start with that end in mind. Starting and ending in gratitude enlivens you in the present – and what is more important than that?
