The Space of Open Awareness

Experience the Seven Spaces of Self in this facilitated Open Awareness process with Jevon Dängeli

This guided process involves exploring the 7 Spaces of Self, namely:

  1. Somatic space – in & around the body

  2. Space below – connection to Earth

  3. Space above – connection to Cosmos

  4. Space to your left – connection to the feminine aspect (yin)

  5. Space to your right – connection to the masculine aspect (yang)

  6. Space behind you – connection to the past

  7. Space in front of you – connection to the future

Open Awareness is the experience of all Seven Spaces of Self simultaneously, which entails the relational space – our connection to others (the 8th Space).

More about Open Awareness

Open Awareness is an expansive perception that promotes a resourceful state and the following qualities:

  • Introspection & interoception – metacognitive awareness in which we can mindfully observe mental activities, emotions, bodily sensations and somatic experience
  • Outrospection – heightened awareness of others and the ways we relate to them, fostering deeper connection and attunement, which in turn cultivates empathy and compassion
  • Envirospection – broad awareness of the space around us which connects us to everything in the environment and the cosmos

Somatic open awareness fosters the deep realisation that your body is one of the many bodies that lives on this planet which is home to us all – human and non-human beings. As you come home to your body, you also come home to our interconnected and interdependent Nature. Expanding your sense of self in the way it is facilitated in the above recording may result in a broader perspective of yourself in relation to the people and events in your life (past, present and future), which in turn promotes healing.

Nobody knows you better than your body does. The collective intelligence of all the cells in your body can be accessed through somatic open awareness – gently exploring your inner landscape with curiosity and getting in touch with your felt sense of aliveness. Through practice, somatic open awareness gradually becomes an embodied trait – an enduring state of spacious (open & flowing) presence accompanied by a felt sense of interconnectedness.

Open awareness is naturally eco-logical – beneficial for you, others, and the world (win-win-win).
